It is fundamental that individuals have the right to deine, and to redeine as their lives unfold, their own gender identities, without regard to chromosomal sex, genitalia, assigned birth sex, or initial gender role. S. 318: criminal act to advocate or promote genocide. S. 319: deals with publically inciting hatred against identiiable, marginalized group. Study suggested that almost all hate crimes in canada have been decreasing with one important exception: hate crimes against lgbtq community (particularly trans people)
