Rule of law: all people are equal under the law; if a prime minister killed, he would be punished the same way as everyone else would. Moral panic: a disruption that threatens the social order of a society; the extent of a panic is unreasonable/blown out of proportion; when society is obsessed without appropriate reason. Law as regulator of morals: we think it"s okay to drink so we allow it; we don"t think it"s okay to kill and rape so our law does not allow it. Law as containment: to prevent something from happening and limits people"s behavior ex. Early 30"s; she was of mixed race; seamstress; unmarried.
