They were able to peak from their technological past & adapt to it & improve from it. The city"s first engineering achievement was the cloecha maxima. A sewer system that was built 2500 years ago & is still used today. Goes from the streets into the tiber river. They built the forum in the pipeline in rome"s downtown district.
