The written component of this course requires student to assume the role of a local or international aid worker whose intervention into a social issue focuses on children and. For example, social worker, international development worker, social justice advocate, working for the un, world bank, unisef, cida, health worker, child protection worker. These are suggested examples, choices are not limited to this list. Students are encourage to discuss his/her choice of professional title with teaching. Select a social issue, it can be local or global, but related to children/childhood. Suggestions are below, students are not limited to the issues documented below, students are urged to select an issue and as soon as possible commence their research. Students will use the concepts from the langton and kammerer text and other course literature to identify, discuss and outline his/her social issue, proposed intervention and possible solutions.
