Toxins and chemicals released through the use and production of plastic. Toxic chemicals that adversely affect human health and the environment around the world. They can be transported by wind and water, most pops generated in one country can and do affect people and wildlife far from where they are used and released. Persist for long periods of time in the environment and can accumulate and pass from one species to the next through the food chain. Pops tend to end up in the north; arctic: weather patterns and climate have an influence, cold environment allows for toxins to stay in the north longer compared to the south. Scientists say the arctic has an unusual level of pops and other toxins: the majority of the toxins are manufactured poisons. Stored long term in fatty tissues of animals: stay in body.
