Problem when you use real people to discuss political philosophy because they tend to promote their own interests. Rawls came up with a plan to by-pass that, he said what if we could put people behind a vail of ignorance that would prevent them from knowing anything at all about their wealth or income at all, Utilitarianism: would be rejected because it would leave people subject to the whim of the majority and so maybe the majority would enslave blue eyes or throw christians to the lions. Libertarianism"s: social mobility and the ability to move up the social ladder but they would reject this as well because people would not know whether they are upper class, middle class or lower class once the veil was lifted. Feudalism: in this society where we have kings and commoners and this would be rejected because there would be no social mobility.
