Artega, already emotionally impacted by the loss of her child from the miscarriage, had to endure a stern pharmacist who refused to serve her the medicine she was required. Based on religious beliefs, the pharmacist did not believe ethically that he should provide her the medicine for her treatment. This has not been the only situation in the united states which religious pharmacists have denied prescriptions or over-the-counter medications used to terminate pregnancies, unwanted or due to miscarriages.
