Non-binary- non-binary is a spectrum of gender identities that are not exclusively masculine or feminine- identities that are outside the gender binary. Gender bender: a person who disrupts or bends expected gender roles. Bending expected gender roles may also be called a genderf**k . Critical theory emerged in the early 1990s out of the fields of queer studies and women"s studies. Influenced by the work of judith butler (gender trouble: gender works through performance), lee edelman, lauren berlant . Derived largely from post-structuralist theory and deconstruction. Explores the oppressive power of dominant norms, particularly those relating to sexuality, and the immiseration they cause to those who cannot, or do not wish to, live according to those norms. Gender and sexuality can be fluid, not static.
