Behavioral assessment: process to figure out behavior, level, treatment, etc. Presenting concerns, agency policies, crisis screening, diagnosis (insurance) Crisis screening: see if needs immediate action or just modification program. Diagnosis necessary for insurance coverage: baseline phase: assess/analyze behavior. What behavior, stimuli, environment, cause of behavior. Important to have something to compare to (see if treatment/program worked: treatment phase: design/implement a program, follow-up phase: see if behavior maintains. Set target behaviors: specific thing you want to change: questionnaires. Rating scales & checklists: less common. Direct assessment procedures: more accurate, but more time consuming. Experimental assessment procedures: experimental functional analysis. A antecedent: what happens right before behavior occurs. C consequence: result of the behavior/whatever happens after behavior.
