A group of people who called themselves godly, wanted to purify the church of england from anything representing the bad, old ways of the catholic church. Take off in the middle of the sixteenth century. Radical puritans who wanted to break completely from the church of england. They think that there should be no church hierarchy what so ever. They did not go to the united states first, they went to holland.
