Document Summary
According to daniel s. alemu, dysfunctional organizations are the result of the behavior of its employees displayed in organizational settings. Some studies focus on genetic predispositions, personality types, and even social backgrounds (alemu, 2016). However, the employees are not the only aspect to consider in a dysfunctional organization. The culture of the organization needs to be taken into account as well. A dysfunctional culture combined with high predispositions for dysfunctional behavior from individuals leads to high incidences of dysfunctional behavior at a workplace (alemu, 2016). It is becoming increasingly common to study the relationship between the behaviors of leaders in relation to dysfunction. If leaders have bad conduct, mistreat employees, and create an overall negative work environment then dysfunction is promoted. Many studies have found that effective organizational leadership minimizes negative influences on its employees. In conclusion, employees will notice when a leader is inefficient, ineffective, disrespectful, and overall unfit to lead.
