Can be recognized because he holds a sword (or book) Shunyata: empty space (everything emerges from this space) Vajrayana buddhism ( diamond vehicle or lightning bolt ) Pre-buddhist tibetan religion was bon religion (shamanism) Entered tibet in 7th century ce but took root in 8th century. Mongols in 13th century ce chose tibetan buddhism. Animism=sees all elements of nature as being filled with spirits.
