If you can"t be kind, at least be vague. The most dif cult thing of all is to keep quiet and listen. The truth will set you free, but it will make you miserable rst: cannot not communicate, expectations (intimacy & companionship, why do we have such problems in this area, nonverbal: Eye contact and touch are the most common: the words tell us the content of the message, the nonverbal help us contextualize it; they help us understand the nature of the relationship. Couples in love touch more, talk closer to each other: simple formula for good communication. Leveling + active listening = good communication. Leveling: actively listening to someone without calculating your response in your head. Supportive communication : soft start up - gentle approach. Women come at men gently: accepting in uence. Treat them how you want to be treated. Men & women: differences: rapport v. report.
