Blood pressure rises and most of the time fainting occurs. Persistent anxiety-provoking thoughts (obsession) and/or urges to perform repetitive, ritualistic behaviors to prevent or produce a situation (compulsions) The compulsions do not help them, they actually just make the situation worse. Aggressive impulses (afraid they are going to do something) Checking (checks doors/locks, looking for cancers etc. ) Ordering (having the same colors in the same order) Avoidance (stay away from anything that reminds them of that situation) Etiology (cause or development of the disorder) . Biological: neurotransmitters, brains stimulation, genetic studies, hormonal. 40-60% of disorders are genetic, have a higher likelihood. Psychological: life stress, over-controlling parents, defense mechanisms, learning. Mood disorders are marked by a distinctive lack of pleasure in life. Anhedonia: a loss of interest in things that people used to enjoy. Ex. with depression you can feel sick or just overall physically hurt. Symptoms last for at least 2 weeks and not caused by medical condition or drugs.
