Mother returns and stranger leaves: what the reunion between the parent and child is like. Mother return and the stranger leaves: to see how the baby responds in this situation, reactions to strange situation (1 year old): Securely attached: 60% of children, explore the room while keeping an eye on the parent and cry in their absence, very easy to console the child when the parent returns. Insecurely attached - avoidant: no distress when the mom leaves, shows little interest in the mom when she returns, 20% of children.
