Reinstatement of torts recognizes the four torts collectively considered invasion of privacy. These torts are: intrusion upon seclusion, public disclosure of private facts, false light, appropriation. Privacy torts again almost have nothing in common. But, there is dear that the press might post things about private lives that might destroy someone"s dignity and integrity and emasculate the person"s independence and freedom. Critics claim that privacy torts don"t just keep the person"s interests protected against what the community wants. Instead, it puts more of a safeguard of rules to people that might be labeled as people and the community. These torts create boundaries between other people, which when gone against by someone, create problems. Privacy torts establish and promote respect for other people that assist in maintaining a healthy community. Breach of confidentiality: this gives a remedy for when someone considered professional, like a doctor, lawyer, banker, etc. , makes a patient or clients confidential information known to others.
