Document Summary

A story is not anything you might say. A television commercial isn"t usually a story, for example. Simply stating that you"ve waited in a long line to get movie tickets isn"t a story either. This, however, doesn"t mean they cant become stories. Stories help an audience connect to some larger meaning, so those sentences alone aren"t enough to paint enough of a picture to hook your audience into engaging and finding meaning in your tale. There are different story helpers you can use to help weave together your larger story. These five helpers are especially useful when you"re trying to explain concepts in data science. Anecdotes are usually the most useful at the beginning of your story. They are short, personal accounts of something that"s relevant to your topic at large. You want your anecdote to be long enough to be interesting, but short enough to not distract from your story.
