Document Summary

It"s very common to start a project with broad initial goals that are too broad to specify the metrics you need off the bat. These questions need metrics to answer them, however, they don"t tell you which metrics. What we learn when asking these questions is that there are various ways to answer the questions. If we have metrics that don"t force us or make us want to take some sort of action, we aren"t using the best metric we could and the right amount of metrics. Being actionable means you"re remaining focused and creating a better journey through your analytics. This means that sometimes you need more than a single metric to reach an actionable insight. We may have a metric that leads us to an action and insight, which will lead to another action. This is a normal and regular analytical process. Over time, we start to develop a tendency to quickly reach actionable insights.
