Consent has to be sober, continuous, conscious (sleeping, drugs, etc. ), voluntary (can"t be forced in any way), and informed. Confidential: office of victim services, student counseling center, health center, legal services, Needs to be done within the first 96 hours. Bystander: someone who is viewing the event but is not involved. Bystander intervention: the bystander does something about what they see. Five steps to bystander intervention : notice an event, interpret the event as a problem, assume personal responsibility, know how to help, implement. Lots of ways to directly indirectly delegating or directing the potentially bad situation. Alcohol is the most commonly used date rape drug. Among college age sexual assault alcohol is involved most of the time. 20% of ball state students do not drink.
