If managers see that depending on the situation, conflict can be beneficial, they have things they can do to effectively manage organizational conflict. A lot of conflicts happen because individuals use different words to talk about the same course of action. Successful conflict management sees these various differing approaches and attempts to resolve conflict by encouraging a more open and honest conversation focused on people"s interests instead of issues. Another approach is having the conflicting groups choose parts of the solution most important to them, then focusing on how each party can be satisfied.
