A significant issue in feminist public relations is work/life balance and the perception of work/lie balance by male and female practitioners. There was a study conducted using eight focus groups of men and women. The researcher analyzed the focus groups seeking themes to explain the perceptions of work/life balance from the participants. The of the literature is useful, particularly the section on gendered discourse. In this study, three research questions guided the researcher. Results are insightful for understanding the issues examined. Both men and women in this study constructed the issue of work/family balance as a woman"s issue, which is consistent with previous work/family research. The study revealed perceptions, challenges, and strategies for pr professionals in work and life negotiations outside of work.
