This is a variant type of the dictator. Closet dictators try to take control of group projects behind the scenes. They do things like: changing strategies, rewriting project reports, alter presentation slides without talking to other team members. Sometimes these efforts result in a good grade, but most often these people delete or revise critical material which makes the final product suffer. Closet dictator are: similar to dictators, above-average students who care about getting a good grade, trust their ability above other teammates, however, they prefer to avoid direct confrontation. Instead they maneuver themselves into a position where they can assume control without causing any controversy. This student is most often underutilized as a resource on a team. Students who seem quiet might have incredible insights and natural abilities. The best teams find a way to use their creative energies in the most effective way.
