The part must be modeled in solidworks. Provides further definition about the product being analyzed, such as what it"s made of. From structural to fluid flow-- determine what type of study to perform. What forces will be acting on the part. Breaks the model up into a mesh, and solves equations. For it to be linear, must follow hooke"s law. Deformation of a model must be small in relation to its overall size. Loads do not change over time and are applied slowly. The bottom left tabs are when simulations will be analyzed. Simulation >>> study or new study icon on simulation toolbar. Creating new study makes new tab (bottom left) Simulation toolbar >> fixtures advisor >> fixed geometry. Select face, external loads(simulation toolbar) >> force. Simulation toolbar >> run this study >> mesh. To see the plot, right-click and show plot or double-click. Toolbar >> results advisor >> new plot >> stress plot (for ex. )
