Heart sounds: 1, late diastole, everything is relaxed, atria is receiving blood from vena cava and pulmonary veins, av valves are open, flow from veins to atria to ventricles, atria contracts, forces blood into ventricles. Lecture 12: 2nd heart sound, av valves open and blood begins to flow passively again, atrial pressure is higher than ventricular pressure.
