Executive function is like the ceo of the brain - keeps track of everything you need to do to run your life and get your work done. Learning disability is often considered too broad a term to be of any diagnostic value. 80% of children with learning disabilities have their primary difficulties in learning to read. Research indicates that outlook is bleak for students with learning disabilities who do not receive appropriate education, especially for reading instruction. 35% of those with learning disabilities who do not receive appropriate education drop out prior to graduation. 17% are enrolled in any post secondary classes. 6% participate in two year higher education programs. 1. 8% participate in four year higher education programs. Regular education has surpassed the resource room as the most common placement for students with learning disabilities.
