The 1831 novel, frankenstein by mary shelley, illustrates a story of scientist victor. The novel begins with a series of letters from captain walton to his sister that set up the novel to be a frame story. Victor is chasing the monster through the artic when captain walton offers him refuge on his ship. From there, victor recounts to the captain all that had happened. In an attempt to recreate life highlighting the novel"s theme of being god victor sews together various dead limbs gives the body new life. However, his creation is too ugly to be seen, so he abandons it. The monster is unhappy with his appearance because no one will be able to love him, so he blames victor for creating him in such a way. He convinces victor to create a female monster for him to love, but victor refuses.
