PSYC 5571 Lecture Notes - Lecture 6: Alimony
Document Summary
The healthier you are, the more likely you are to take a bridge job- if you are in very good health, 60% will take a bridge job, vs. 40% of poor health people will. If you leave your full time career plan at a later age, you are less likely to take a bridge job. If you have health insurance that is portable, you are less likely to take a bridge job. If you are not covered during your full time career job, then you are much more likely to take a bridge job. You are also much more likely to take a bridge job if you have no pension. The poorest people and the richest people are the most likely to take bridge jobs: the people in the middle of the income distribution are less likely. If you are poor, you need the extra money or you need the health insurance, etc: working because they need to.
