Allows us to learn from past people: from both their mistakes and their successes. Excellent sources for educating the public about arch and the cultural history. Cultural heritage industry developed (cid:685)to comply with legal statutes, mandates, and regulations affecting historical/cultural properties of values(cid:686) Involved in the protection/preservation of arch remains and cultural properties of value. Designed to protect places of cultural heritage: mainly from looting/vandalism. Many artifacts can be sold for large amounts of money (esp. now with the internet it"s easier to sell these things) Thousands and thousands of arch sites were being destroyed by development. Manage and oversee the arch on their lands. Creation of the state historic preservation office. Mandated to manage and protect the cultural resources in the state.
