Document Summary

Ectothermy source of heat is external; sun to warm up activity. System has much stronger tolerance for disruption. Less fuel; no need to eat a lot. Endothermy source of heat comes from internal, metabolic processes; biochemically, and not behaviorally. Metabolically expensive; requires lots of fuel, oxygen; must eat a lot. Maintain relatively stable and constant body temperature levels over 24 hrs. Animals so big that it never cools down/warms up completely; ectotherm so big that you never cool down. So big, that when sun goes down, you start cooling down but you are so big that u never completely cool down. Little bit of endothermy, but not so much that they would overheat. + erect posture indicates high activity levels so endothermy is needed. + expensive to be bipeds (therapods) so endothermy is needed. Not necessarily - large sauropods likely didn"t have high activity levels because of their size.
