Gender not a set of traits, a variable, a role that leads to the product of social doings. Categorization not dependent on living up to some ideal conception of what it means to be female/male. A person engaged in any/all activities may be held accountable for performance of that activity/activities as a woman or man. Their incumbency in one of the other sex category can be used to legitimate or discredit their other activities. Different sports (certain sports are off limits to females)
