ANTH 114 Lecture 7: Anthro111 ObeservationProject 1 chacho
Document Summary
Our observational group met at the c4 dining hall, a popular eating destination for homo sapiens during lunch and dinner hours, around 12 pm and 6 pm respectively. The approximate population of homo sapiens at 1:30 pm was 50 people. There are tables set up inside of c4 that are purposely built to form social groups while also making it easier to distinguish between separate social groups of humans. The overall scope of this project was to observe humans and their behaviors within different social groups. Part one was observing the entire dining hall and recording the different types of social groups present as well as group size, the gender of every individual of the group, and the total number of humans present. For part two, three large groups were observed and recorded when twenty specific behaviors across four behavioral categories, friendly/unfriendly and dominant/submissive (five from each), and compared the data from each of the groups.
