1 Introduction:
Baqar Naqvi, a levels from Beaconhouse in 2002, Bachelors from Fast univer-
sity in 2006, Masters in computer science from Fast university, discussed some
insights at Careem.[2] Now, he works as an principal software engineer at Ca-
reem.He also leads an HPA(High performance availability) team to deliver a
horizontally scalable, highly available, AI-first system and has contributed in
the field of micro-services at Careem. He chose Computer Science as a field of
study because he was interested in playing games which helped him to become
a developer. In this session, Baqar shares with the students about what are the
values of Careem and how it works.
2 Careem:
Wikipedia stated that Careem was co-founded by Mudassir Sheikha and Mag-
nus Olsson, who had both worked as management consultants at McKinsey and
Company.[3] It started operating in July 2012 as a website-based service for cor-
porate car bookings, and evolved to become a transportation network company
with car hire for everyday use.So basically, Careem provides transport services
to clients to around 80 cities.
2.1 Core values of Careem :
Core values of Careem are as follows:
1. People need to be focused
2. People need to collaborate
3. People need to be agile
The purpose of these three pillars is for people to own stuff.Careem goal is to
improve peoples lives.[1] There are 4 main groups that help Careem to achieve
this goal. They are as follows:
