But events moved forward so fast that the 2nd congress was forced to make drastic decisions involved with developing an independent nation. Nothing really came out of the 1st congress. The fighting in ma led to the establishment of the 2nd congress. Fighting extended towards canada because colonists wanted to attack. Moderates -> john dickinson, pa pa farmer . Dickinson was afraid because he doubted that the colonies could win against the british empire. Radicals included richard henry lee, john adams, ben franklin.
