Rhetorical strategy: assume fetus is a person and see what ethical implications follow. Then does it follow that vast majority of abortions are murders. Challenge the idea that even if infant had full right to life then that overrules the mothers health. Imagine you wake up in bed and someone is hooked up to your kidneys- a famous violinist and will die without the kidney. The violinist is kidnapped and drugged by his own fans because they don"t want to see him die and you are also drugged and are hooked by the kidneys. Violinist and you both didn"t do anything wrong. They say i"m sorry this happened but all you have to do is hang on for 9 months and then you can go your separate ways and the violinist will live. Question: do you have to respect the violinist"s right to life if you disconnect and he dies.
