Probably the most uniquely human -- we"re the only species that has the ability to write. Can"t hate writing if you"re going into communications. Only 50% people in the world can read and write: literacy = taken for granted. Way to share information across the world >> immortal version of your thoughts. Journalistic writing: ability to tell a story while having a focus on information, crossover between technical aspect and storytelling aspect, who, what, when, where, why, how. Cinematic writing: focus = telling a story through the portrayal of relationships, dialogue, colloquial language, imagery, themes, etc, not always between two individuals (ex. Promotional writing: relating to advertising and pr, writing to achieve some change in the audience -- goal oriented change. Research paper: can be used across all other types of professional writing categories, not necessarily to persuade, portray relationships, or give narrative but it often does.
