Document Summary
Individualized education plan (iep) that is developed by professionals and parents approve. Goals are very specific, measurable, time bound. Parents can request iep meeting at any time. Part c: early intervention (birth - 3 years) A gap exists between early intervention and school age. Public schools offer services and programs to children 3-5. Ifsp: individualized family service plan in early intervention. Not entirely centered around school, can permit home access. Part d: national activities to improve education of children with disabilities. Every state has an office that coordinates education improvement for children with disabilities. Children with disabilities must be educated in the least restrictive environment. Students should be included as much as possible in a regular classroom, and sometimes you may need to pull them out for special services, or have specialized classroom. Support and adaptations are provided by school. Schools aren"t required to provide wheelchairs, as they are considered unrelated to education.
