This is why people avoid god, because they only want to fix one part of their life not all aspects: in this quote, basically what it means is that god is pleased by our efforts to appease him. For example, god may be pleased that we are trying so hard to resist a certain sin. However, god is not satisfied at the state we are at. Then i see myself marrying young, and running a jazz trio across the world, becoming world-renowned. This may be very different from god"s plan for me. God may want me going to a small christian college and then using music for ministry across third world countries. I may not find a spouse until i am much older, and my life may never be my definition of complete, but in god"s eyes, it is the best path.
