Affection: conflict is/has: natural and normative (can be dysfunctional); positive aspects designed to revolve differences, conflict is a confrontation over control of scarce resources. External to the social system: power= ability to control, sources of power. People will define and interpret objects and events in their environment. No notions as to how they do this or how people make their decisions. Look at the interactions that make up a relationship. People react to something according to the meaning of that thing to them. Once individuals develop a sense of self, this will provide motivation for future behavior.
