Pretenders: expressions- how do we show our knowing, si (symbolic interactionists) Closeness and responses or interactions: the way we interact is contextual, people around you determine you (your confidence, emotions, etc. ) Do this by what they see and tell you. We have marks to our interactions and our body language. Social presence : impressions: what is interpreted, expressions: what is given off, persona/ personality. Being and identity (root of being: we have selfish interactions to control situations. Most of the time these are wrong. Tone of voice and facial expressions affect impressions. Short speaking vs. passionate tones: if you do not know someone, they may not understand your verbal cues, cannot be shown in text unless specifically written in.
