Way of horus: fortified way stations into southern palestine: hypo-arid desert originally caused problem for traveling. Kadesh: important vassals of the mitanni. Smaller kingdoms of tunip and kadesh: city-state of megiddo. Rulers are allies of the prince of kadesh. Booty from battle at megiddo: 894 chariots, including 2 covered with gold, 200 suits of armor, 2 of bronze, 2000 horses, 25000 animals.
