After people have adjusted to life they are then happy. Fixed level of happiness can be changed but you have to work at it everyday. Leading causes of death in us in 1990 and 1991. 160 years ago causes of death were viral and bacterial diseases. Now heart disease (stress level), caner (lifestyle choices), strokes, and chronic lung disease are leading causes of death in us. Most of these are covered well in the book but a few notes: Keep your self-reg resources as high as possible. When self-reg resources low, use other strategies. Need to fix it now (much harder later) Nicotine one of the most addictive substances. Chapter 11 may be the most important chapter pages 391-410 especially carefully.
