Six basic steps (pg 44) - don"t memorize generalizes to other subjects and circumstances. Repeating the essence of a research study to see whether the basic finding. Usually with different subjects in different situations. You have to change your mind if the data says you"re wrong. Correct police line up can work if you. I use to think this was worthless . but good evidence that if you do a line up correctly it does actually work (unlike political opinions) The suspect should not stand out in the lineup. Describes hypothesis nicely but needs an experiment to find cause and effect. Employee surveys - looking for motivational problems in company. People think that other people think the same way that they do. Ex: if you ask someone who they are going to vote for and ask if they think people around them will vote for the same personthey say yes even though that may not be the case.
