Occurs with simple or well-learned tasks but not with tasks that are difficult or you haven"t yet mastered. Social inhibition : decreased performance of some tasks in the presence of others (stagefright) Yerkes-dodson law: explains stage fright, rising to the challenge , maybe even home field advantage. Groupthink : you have a desire for harmony, and it overrides realistic appraisal of alternatives.
