With readership decreasing due to internet news sources, newspapers across the country are calling it quits, in part due to their inability to keep advertisers, who are also moving to the web. With readers and advertisers steering away from traditional newspapers, newspaper stocks are also decreasing, making it difficult for them to function financially. Nobody should relish the demise of once-great titles. But the decline of newspapers will not be as harmful to society as some fear.
