For this we"re going to look at the dopaminergic reward system in the brain. The dopamine system also responds to pleasurable aesthetics. As great as the dopaminergic system is there"s a big drawback, habituation - nothing is ever as good as the first time. Studies show that the frontal cortex go for different aspects of reward magnitude. The prefrontal cortex helps us do the right thing and is formed at 25. Seeing something and imaging it to be something else. Where we have our emotions and tell us what it is before our brain has a chance to process what it is. If you see someone as a potential criminal, then you are more likely to see them holding a gun because it makes the pathways stronger. Looking at things that you should be nervous about.
