Document Summary

Will not name the parts of the brain on the exam. Prefrontal cortex is the last thing to develop in the brain. Amygdala, an almond-shaped section of nervous tissue located in the temporal (side) lobe of the brain, and hippocampus part of it. Amygdala is sitting under the cortex and is central to our aggressions, emptions, and behaviors. This is where our emotional response comes from. Many experiments on activating this part of the brain in mice to get an emotional response. Amygdala is used for controlling seizures and is responsible for all emotions and when you provoke anger, it is the amygdala that is activated. Prefrontal cortex (involved in so many actions of what we do) If wanted to reduce crime in us is to lock up everyone until they turn 26. Amygdala when overstimulated causes this agitation that ppl with ptsd can"t control.
