Phobias: irrational fears to particular objects, situations etc. Bad experience on plane ! fear of planes. Little albert demonstrates classical conditioning of a fear response. Originally has no fears, 11 months old. Attempting to condition a fear of rats. Every time he reached for a rat he banged a steal bar with a hammer just behind his head ! the noise was terrifying. Us: sound ur: fear to noise cs: rat: cr: fear to rat. Then his fear generalized to all other furry objects. One trial learning of taste aversion is biologically adaptive. Only takes one time of you eating one thing and getting sick, then you won"t want to eat it again. Taste aversion is so strong, that a full 12 hours between the stimulus and the response can pass and the association will still be made. Cancer patients tend to develop taste aversion to everything they had just eaten.
