From the moment we started completing rhetorical precis" i felt that i was becoming a more active writer. Before this class, i didn"t even know what a precis was and its purpose. Now that i fully understand how to properly analyze an article by thinking critically and being able to explain to someone who has never seen the text within four sentences. The strategy for approaching this kind of analysis involves me to constantly interact with the text and describe the main idea, purpose, and audience in a coherent fashion. As we slowly but surely transitioned to the room for debate the genre was different from anything i"ve ever done. But after having many discussions and examples of how a room for debate should look like, i learned to understand its value and how introducing a source does a great job guiding the reader.
