The smell that we emit- animals in nature are attracted to each others scent. Women who live together for long periods of time get on the same menstrual cycle. Women in estrus are attracted to strong dominant male and not in estrus are attracted to baby-faced men. Theory that pheromones have an affect in human mating behavior has been set aside. We use autonomic nervous system arousal as a cue that we are attracted to someone. Manipulate people levels of arousal and trick them into being attracted to someone. Bridge study- in bc there is a rickety bridge that goes over a steep gorge and farther up in the gorge there is a smaller drop off with a concrete bridge. They planted a female confederate (same one) in the middle of the bridge to ask men questions about the park.
