Groups make it difficult to think critically. Being a member of that group has a certain belief. Difficult to think critically about those things. Difficult to realize that those are beliefs. When we have an evidence that contradict something we believe. We much more likely to scrutinize it. Certain forms of evidence are more salient to you when you address certain issues. Is there any way that i can mitigate the bias that is likely to intervene my argument because of my preference to certain evidence. The truths in some domain are relative to some individuals. The truth of some domain is true relative the social group. Led to skepticism by the tool of critical thinking. No belief is better than the other. Statement: a sentence that is either true or false. An assertion that something is or is not the case. Not all sentences are statements: these types are not statements. Proposition: the information content imparted by a statement.
